Town Hall Meeting on Implementation of 2021 Action Plan

The Budget Unit of The Akrofuom District Assembly on 15th March, 2022 held a town hall meeting to present to the community members the budget of the Assembly.

The meeting is required by law under Public Financial Management Act 2016 (Act 921) whereby the Assembly is to present to the community members the budget of the District.

The DCE, Hon. Maurice Jonas Woode thanked the participants for taking time out of their busy scheduled to attend the gathering. He explained to them the need to consult the general public and other stakeholders of the district on the planning and budgeting of the Assembly for the year 2021 and also seek their views so far for the performance of the Assembly for 2022.

The District Planning Officer, Mrs. Charity Osei Mensah presented to the gathering the Annual Action Plan of the Assembly for the year 2021.

She stated that the Assembly has in its plans a total of 26 projects and 90 programmes to be implemented in the year 2022. The plan captured the vulnerabilities, agriculture, women empowerment, climate change etc.

The District Budget Analyst, Mr. Paul Asamoah also made a presentation on performance of the budget. He revealed the various funding sources of the Assembly – DACF, IGF, DDF and other Donor Funds.

He said at the end of 2021, the Assembly was able to generate an IGF amount of Seven Thousand and twenty six thousand, two hundred and forty-five Ghana cedis and eighty-eight pesewas (Gh 726,245.88) accounting for 93.6% of the total target of Six hundred and eighty thousand (Gh 680,000.00) with an increase of forty-six thousand, two hundred and forty-five cedis and eighty-eight pesewas (Gh 46,245.88).

The District Budget Analyst continued that the total revenue target for all funding sources for the year 2021 stood at Nine million, three hundred and twenty-nine thousand, three hundred and fourteen Ghana cedis, forty pesewas (Gh 9,329,314.40)

Participants were appreciative for the opportunity to partake in the programme and urged the DCE and Management to continue to give off their best to serve the district.
