A durbar was organize on the 13th December,2022 at Danyame a section in Akrofuom, community or populace were given health talk or health education on the need to stop practicing crude dumping and burning of refuse in open space such as market, lorry station and within houses. The durbar started around 8:30am in the morning, where David Ashanti give us the opening prayer follow by a welcome address from the assembly member by name Hon Edward Peprah. Mr Abudu Romanus who is Environmental  Health officer at the Akrofuom District Assembly give a comprehensive health education on the need to stop practicing crude dumping and burning of refuse. Mr Abudu Romanus further on added that, burning of refuse have a serious health implications to human health and the environment at large. Mr Abudu outline some of the side effect of dumping and burning of refuse;

  1. Respiratory tract infection or disease.
  2. Air pollution.
  3. Skin infection
  4. Produce offensive odour.
  5. Breeding of mosquitoes that can cause malaria.

The total roll called was 100 persons of which females 60 and males 40.

Hon Edward Peprah give his closing remarks by thanking all the participants who leave their busy schedule to join the durbar.

He further added that members of the community should take health education that has just given to them serious for the betterment of their lives and promoting of good health and well-being.
