Assembly Holds Consultative Meeting on Fee Fixing Resolution

The Budget Unit of the Akrofuom District Assembly has held a stakeholders consultative meeting on the fee fixing for 2023 fiscal year.

The meeting was to seek the inputs of stakeholders on the fixing of fees for the 2023 fiscal year.

The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Ebenezer Douglas Ntiamoah reiterated the importance of paying taxes to the government. He said must continues have developed as a result of taxes that citizenry have paid and continue to pay.

He added that the Assembly does not sit in isolation to decide whatever they like to do but rather collaborate with all stakeholders to achieve the desired results.

Mr. Ntiamoah added that the Assembly has set for itself many developmental targets and they can only be achieved if taxes are paid by the citizenry.

The District Budget Analyst, Mr. Paul Asamoah revealed to the participants the laws and regulations that govern the establishment of the Akrofuom District Assembly which are:

  1. Local government Act 2016 (Act 936) sectional Legislative Instrument 2329 (2017)

He also revealed to the gathering sources of revenue for the Assembly which are DACF, DACF-RFG, Donor (MAG) and IGF.

Mr. Asamoah also gave a vivid presentation on the expenditure items of the Assembly covering Health, Education, Water, Sanitation, Roads, Agriculture and other expenses.

Participants gave concerns as the prices and made necessary objection to some of the changes that have been proposed by the Assembly.

In conclusion, it was a successful programme which was very worthwhile.
