Akrofuom: Press Conference to respond to allegations made against the DCE

The Akrofuom District Assembly, today held a Press Conference to respond to allegations made against the District Chief Executive, Hon. Maurice Jonas Woode, the District Education Director Mr. George Sarfo Kantanka, Mr. David Tetteh, Mr. Kwaku Gyasi, Mr. Ernest Okyere Eyison and Mr. Clifford Charles Baah (all staff of the District Education Directorate) for their involvement in the sacking of one Mr. Michael Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Teacher Kwodwo from the Ghana Education Service.
All the allegations were denied and the real facts of the issue were laid bare.
It was revealed that Michael Owusu Afriyie was sacked from the service based on Professional Misconduct which was communicated to him and that his sacking has got nothing to do with the said video he published in the media or his fixGES campaign. Some of these included absenting himself from school without proper permission, failure to prepare lesson plans, gross insubordination towards supervisors and others.
Michael Owusu Afriyie has been given two weeks grace period to retract and apologize to the DCE and the person’s he mentioned for tarnishing their image as being part of those who masterminded his sacking from the GES.
Hon. Woode assured that his outfit will ensure that all their programs and activities are geared towards the development of the district and not to victimise anyone who might constructively criticise the government.
