Akrofuom: Meeting with Motor Riders (okada) to clamp down accidents

As part of efforts to clamp down on the rampant rate of accidents involving motor riders popularly known as okada riders in the district, the Assembly held a meeting with all the riders.
The meeting was to bring to their attention the importance of their services to the people and how some riders are deliberately flouting the laws governing their operations.
Speakers at the meeting informed the riders that henceforth, anyone who will be found flouting the laws, especially – overspeeding, overloading, riding without license, riding unregistered motorbikes, unnecessary horning, among others will not be spared.
The riders agreed with management and promised to abide by all the traffic regulations.
The speakers included the District Chief Executive, Hon.Maurice Jonas Woode, the District Coordinating Director, Mr Ebenezer Ntiamoah, the District Director for Education, Mr George Sarfo Kantanka and some personnels from the Security services.
