Accra: Akrofuom District Budget Analyst Honoured At May Day

The District Budget Analyst for Akrofuom District Assembly, Mr. Ransford Kennedy Gyimah has been awarded at the 2024 May Day Celebration in Accra.

As a traditional practice, during May Day celebrations some selected outstanding workers of the various unions under the Trades Union Congress are honoured.

Each union through a thorough selection and vetting process presents one member for the national award to be presented by the President.

The 2024 May Day celebration was celebrated in Accra under the theme “Elections 2024: The Role of Workers and Social Partners in Securing Peaceful Elections for National Development”, attended by high ranking state officials including the President of the Republic, His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the Vice President, Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumiah, the Minister for Labour Relations and leaderships of all the labour unions in Ghana.

For his award, he received a 50 inch Smart Television and a Plaque for his invaluable contribution to the labour movement in Ghana and also for his sterling performance as the budget analyst in the Akrofuom District.

Mr Gyimah in his remarks thanked God, his family, friends, the Methodist Church of Ghana especially the Methodist Youth Fellowship, District Chief Executives, District Coordinating Directors and all staff he has worked with at Asante South Municipal, Sekyere Kumawu District and the Akrofuom District Assemblies.

He was also grateful to the District, Regional and National Executives of LGSWU for recognising his efforts over the years which has led to him receiving this award.

He promised that he will not relax after receiving this award but rather the sky will be the start point and not the limit.

The District Chief Executive, the District Coordinating Director, Management and the entire staff of the Akrofuom District Assembly congratulate you on your award and pray that you will not rest on your oars.
